If you would have asked me earlier in the year when I thought my riding season would wrap up,I probably would have said around October or so. The thought of Winter Cycling was simply not something I was even contemplating. I had done it before years ago, however that was out of necessity more than anything. I'm not sure what clicked this year, however I've found myself totally enjoying cycling on a new level ever since.
The fact that we've had a relatively mild winter so far has certainly helped. Probably even more of a factor is the low amount of snow overall; this has made my route entirely "do-able". I'm not certain if this will hold out the whole season; several segments I use include some bike paths that probably will not get cleared when the snow starts to pile up. I'll give it my best shot though.
To celebrate today's last commute of the year (but not the season) I took a bit of a "meandering" route home today that included a few different areas and conditions. This time I managed to snap a pic of the skating paths at the Forks; as mentioned before I've ridden the bike on these paths with no difficulty, the studs work that good!
