While cleaning my road bike this morning, I found a broken spoke on my rear wheel. And since the LBS didn't open until 10 am, I took the hybrid out for a spin (was planning to ride 65-100 miles). Rode to Grenada Park and back. Discovered that the underpass at 7th avenue is finally done!
Rode to SWB to get the broken spoke fixed on the road bike. Took it slow, since I had to disengage the rear brake. After eating lunch at Subway, Jeff informed me that the rear wheel needed to be rebuilt again. When I had the blow-out last month, the chain fell off and must have damaged the wheel. Despite leaving the bike at another shop for a few days for a tune-up, replace the chain, and mount a new cassette, they missed the worn spokes at the hub. I'm not very happy with the other shop now. I should get my wheel back on Thursday and since SWB let me use a "loaner" wheel, I can still ride!
