I had a rather ammusing ride home today. There was a significant dusting of snow that showed up this afternoon, and as I was leaving work I had several folks say things like "be careful" and "it's a skating rink out there!". Now, I know this was just out of genuine concern, but I actually had absolutely no difficulty cycling in the meager layer of dry snow on the streets. Not to say that I didn't use common sense, especially around intersections.
It was at one of these that I had the "amusing moment"; a car passed me as we were approaching a four way stop, the driver and passenger shaking their heads in dissaproval. Seconds later they were sliding through the intersection nearly striking a car that was going through (with lots of raised middle fingers and yelling I might add). I on the other hand stopped fine (I wasn't going all that fast), and to add insult to injury passed the frackus in the middle of the intersection with no slippage at all. I waved for good measure. Needless to say when they caught up with me later there was no eye contact of any kind.. but I would swear there was a fine shade of pink on their cheeks..
