Comments: Tour De ChocolateTown, Hershey, PA. First time in Hershey. Was a beautiful cool (55F) morning with wind picking up (to 15-20) by late morning. Much hillier than I was expecting with 2700+ vertical according to Garmin, felt like 4000+ according to my undertrained, overloaded quads. My front d. went out, so I had to stop, get off the bike and manually shift to the granny gears on the 20+ 8-10% walls. Was a complete death march for me, have't felt this horrible in years, but also haven't riddent this little by June in years. Hoping to ride much more after my move to DC. Now have tremendous training motivation.

Comments: Crystal Ride at the Air Force Cycling Classic, Arlington, VA (Crystal City). Was shooting for 6-15km laps, but old, fat, bloated, and 4 days of moving furniture/boxes, could only do 5 laps. The climb to the Pentagon Memorial kicked my fat wide butt. Would have been easy otherwise. Very hot but Johnstown, PA standards. First ride as a new Crystal City, VA resident. The ride started just outside my new location and watched the pro race from my balcony. 2 crashes on the ride directly in front of me on the first 2 laps at the same spot just outside Rosslyn. The 2nd crash nearly took me down. I was very cautious after that. Kept getting blocked on the downhills by traffic. 1st 3 laps were in: 29:50, 30:05, 31:00, but 4th was 35. Then overheated and tired. Took it easy on #5 after a lengthy stop. Heard someone yell "beertuck" on last lap.. ;-)

Comments: Western MD Rail Trail, Hancock, MD on a beautiful, clear day. Legs were sore from start due to 5 straight days of moving heavy boxes. The move to DC almost complete, Was tired before the first pedal stroke. Warmed up after 30 mins but then died at end. Was odd, felt stronger up the small grade than going down.

Comments: Rode out of Sealy, TX with Keith, Vic, Tim, John and Steve. Searching a new route for Keith. I had breathing issues to start (sky high humidity). I had forgotten my helmet, cyclometer, gloves and apparently lungs. Felt better after stopping the bag rubbing on back wheel. Felt strong until last leg in. Got lost several times.
