| Comments: Club ride to Bue Diamond. Mounted sound system over brake cable, so I had to re-do that before riding in. Still managed to get to start on time. Brought Cycle Sound and had large flags to make chalenge of extra weight and drag. Felt out of shape going up Blue Diamond road and had trouble keeping up with the lead group. Coming back was easy with wind and downhill. |

| Comments: Work & back. Discovered brake rubbing on wheel. Must have been that way for a few rides. No wonder I felt out of shape. |

| Comments: To work & back. Started on long route, but flatted. Saw my phone wasn't with me, so I had to go back. Got my phone and headed out on shorter route to work. Had several problems with motorists cutting me off or coming too close. |

| Comments: To club ride. With seven other riders. Moderate pace, easy in several places and then some hard sprints. Clicking in drive train has gone away. Could have been wheel not seated. |

| Comments: First day of RAGBRAI, Sioux Center to Cherokee. Started riding about 5 am. Stopped for pancake & sausage breakfast. Once in Cherokee the camp charging station was not working. Finally charged Garmin at High School during symphony concert. |

| Comments: Started at 5:15. Rolled Garmin inside tent, so stats are guesses. After the ride I discovered front break dragging on wheel. I was still second rider to campsite. Still having clicking sound in drive train and noticed new pedals spinning too fast. Got them lubed. Replaced tail light since one I bought yesterday broke apart during ride. Found another flat while in camp. Fixed before next ride time. |
| Weather Conditions: Headwinds about 15 mph. Rain overnight again, but stopped before ride time. Woke me at 1:00 so I didn't get much sleep. |

| Comments: Started at 4:30 to avoid the heat. Stayed close to rider with headlight until daybreak. Then picked up speed. Easy going until Dayton a town about half way out. Then the winds came up. 25 mph plus! I did the extra loop to make the 100 miler. I got "laid" at Stratford's Hawaiian days. Had to do some steep hills getting there and out. Last 25 miles roads were very bumpy. |

| Comments: Webster City to Marshalltown. Started at 5:30 or later. Lack of sleep and heat made me slow to get motivated. Legs did better than I expected after the century the day before. I saw John Schlitter and wife on the coarse. They made recumbents look easy. I couldn't keep up. |
| Weather Conditions: Felt hotter today, but not as windy. Several people had to be sagged in. I think it was RAGBRAI record.
8:30 pm rain again. Expected 60 mph winds, so sleeping was impossible. Never came though. |

| Comments: Cedar Rapids to Anamosa. 5:30 start. Stopped at Czech village on way out of CR, and had wonderful pastry. Moderate pace until two guys passed me. I jumped on and tried to stay with them. The leader dropped me, but dropped the others first. He said something about I do ok on my little bike. (recumbent) Got to Anamosa by 9 am. Had a few hills this day and wind and heat |

| Comments: Anamosa to Clinton. started around 6:00 with Steve Nelson. Very slow pace with Steve and got to talk with him. Lost him once, found him, the lost him again. Picked up the pace and was anticipating steep climb near the finish. There were climbs, but nothing bad. I stopped at Delmar for the best meal ever. Pulled pork, sweet corn, watermellon, and pie with icecream! |
| Weather Conditions: Temps cooled enogh I should have used arm warmers. I think it was a calm day that only reached 86°. A perfect RAGBRAI day! |
