2016-09-21: The remodeling project is mostly done. I've changed jobs twice since joining BikeJ, and each has been farther from my home than the previous job. Currently I'm making a push to get back to regular cycle commuting, at least 2-3 days per week--I'm riding to/from the Capitol Corridor train, about 35 km/day.

The bike-related articles on my blog are updated most frequently.

I joined BikeJournal in early Feb 2006. (Thanks to live2bike for introducing me to BikeJ!)

Description:  A bike with some history! My "Burgundy Beauty", Cr-Mo (chromoly) frame from the mid-80's.

I don't have a lifetime odometer reading for this bike. I'm on my third cycle computer, and the "lifetime" odo is taken from this unit.

2006-03-10: New chain @ 260.5 km

2006-04-28: Replaced original (?) tires today at 909.0 km. I've been having trouble with the new chain slipping off the cogs, talked to the wrenches at Peak Adventures--they confirmed my hunch that the cogs were worn. Estimated cost for new cogs/casette+rear wheel is ~$400. A new Sequoia would only be about $1100. Hmm...

2006-05-11: Cogs were causing me a lot of grief last weekend, but I didn't want to spend a few hundred dollars to fix the problem. New set (same gearing) installed today at 1100 km, for under $20.

Lifetime Odometer: 2,216.8 km

Tires:
700 x 23C Vittoria Rubino Tech, front, 1,282 km
