Cycled nearly all my life, but with huge gaps in between. Never raced a bike, but ran on the road and on the hills. Now ride the bike to train. Started riding Audaxes and Skyrides(Got the tee shirt!). Most of my cycling is commuting. Always somewhere to park!
I borrowed this phrase from another BJ'er "Ride to work, work to eat, eat to live, live to ride!"

Single Speed Road bike
Description:  Used to be a 10 speed bike, Now hacked and slashed to make it appear like a wreck, purely for security puposes. Used for commuting and training. Practically everything has been changed, Flip flop at the rear. The double cog reduced to one. Several pairs of pedals destroyed. Recently added clipless pedals. Wheels rebuilt and 3 saddles. Numerous tyres. The puncture fairy used to visit on a regular basis. Done 3000 miles in the last year, but started afresh when I joined this site. Is going to need the bottom bracket replacing soon. Recently replaced the tires with the ones from the Giant. Chain now starting to stretch. The chain is far older than the single cog. Chain still not changed but the BB has been changed with about 1400 mile on the clock. No problem except getting the old one off. Now putting The Swalbe Marathon plus on both wheels. Gosh seems really heavy!

Lifetime Odometer: 1,550.0 miles

700 x 25C Schwalbe marathon plus, front, 1,045 miles
700 x 25C Schwalbe marathon plus, rear, 1,095 miles

Description:  As standard but now with clipless pedals. Originally bought with the government taxback scheme. Nice bike 12 months old. Daren't use it as my commuter machine it will only disappear. Small boys drool all over it, only they are not the ones likely to steal it. Only used for Audax and training, and the occasional commute. Changed the rear cassette at 258 miles by the Bike Journal score. Replaced the Tiagra one with an Ultegra. 27 teeth on the big chainring goes like a dream.
