So who is on board for the new year? I have started the table with last year's active crew.

The 2011 Challenge was at bikejournal.com/thread.asp?ThreadID={9B72E97D-8B2F-48A2-8BEE-7520F6D4F2DB}

I'm in again this year. I'll be back on the road for work with at least four overseas trips, so I'm thinking I'll have to set my goal at 8 months with 1000 miles and keep my fingers crossed.

I think I'll drop out of the challenge this year; I just don't really have a monthly mileage goal. Thanks for running the challenge anyway.

I am in again Kirke, Can I roll over my extra 5000 from last year????? guess not. but with a so far very dry and warm Dec and start here in Jan. I am doing OK, A very busy Broadcast schedule in Jan. will slow me down some, but I will try to just keep peddlin.

January...done.
You can put my goal as "12". February is going to be hard, but I'm still going for it.

It's interesting to me that after getting in a 1,000 miles in what is essentially an off month, my mileage ranking is still lower than it was for overall last year.

What a start, GC! I have been noticing much the same thing. Granted, I am riding much slower with my normal bike out of action, but last year I was mostly in the top 100 and this year just breaking 400.

I figure everyone else is like Raleighdon and has taken off to where there is better riding weather at least part of the month.

I'm in for ONE this year, Kirke. I think by August I will be strong enough to do a 300k, and if so, maybe I can get 1000 mile month. Gotta keep setting goals, right?

Glad to have you back with us, Donald! Goals are good, but I try not to get excessive when pursuing them. Better to back off than to take inadvisable risks. Of course that is kind of in the eye of the beholder - witness various folks reaction to the topic of studded bicycle tires.

I think one is a worthy target for this year.
