This thread was started by Pansy Palmetto. She's left a lasting impression and I know I'll think of her as I pass mile 25 on any given ride.

A mix of earlier Polemics from 2009/11:
All who are the center of the universe, step forward and show your quarters! No, not your living quarters, not your hindquarters, your 25 mile rides! Whether you've finally gotten out of shape or you're trying to stay there... Now go call someone who cares. You will find to your horror that quarters CARES (where oh where has quartermaster pansy gone?)! You are CYCLE PERSON! Rawr!
And ... if you get that ride done in the THIRD QUARTER it means you're out, moving and sweating it out while other people are still on the couch.
1. Rides are from 25.0 miles to 49.99999999999 miles. Anywhere. Inside outside, all around the block. 2. Miles count in only one mileage thread, so don't go posting your overachievements from the higher milage theads. 3. Only one quarter per day (00:00 to 24:00 where ever you may be).
You may report your "metric quarters" (25 km- about 16 miles) if it's less than 16 degrees Fahrenheit and we'll acknowledge the hardness of your core, but it won't be a "quarter."
(BTW my secret code to get in and edit this is the same as ... my name.)
Our founder Pansy will always be in the lead! I can see the tutu...

#1 with 28.8 sweltering miles on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Today's ice cream ride was 101 degrees when I left home and 104 when I got home. We spent a good amount of time at the ice cream shop enjoying the fellowship, A/C, our smoothies and ice cream. That end of the Swamp Rabbit is heavily shaded and it was fairly comfortable even though it was hot.

26.4 miles with my son before church which we did in 1 hour and 37 minutes. It was nice, got an early start. So I am keeping up with everyone for one day this quarter.

#2 with 26.0 miles on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. I stopped to air up a guy's flat along the way and had a good black raspberry / chocolate twist at the Trailside Creamery.

Morning ride of 35.45 miles. Hanging on trying to not let Hawkeye get too far ahead.

#2 on July 3, 35.52 miles, and #3 on July 5, 31.27 miles.

#3 with 27.3 hot miles on the Swamp Rabbit. It was an eventful ride - nothing bad but a lot of people. Hang on Britt. If we can survive the big heat then we can have a good ring to the end of the quarter!

Q3N3
Rode 45.63 miles this morning after a storm. It was nice except for dodging all the debris along the trail. Then the sun came out and it was like a sauna. Anyway, hanging on to the back wheel of Hawkeye.
