On Wednesday, July 18th, at 1:37 pm PT, mimitabby posted on Facebook:
"Raleighdon is gone. Rest in peace, my beloved husband."
She asked me to let you all know. We've lost one of our own. Donald Boothby inspired us with his humor, his wit and wisdom, his love for his family, his passion for life and cycling, which were synonyms to him, and his devotion to donuts, pie, and really, REALLY long bike rides.

I am so sorry to hear that Don lost his battle. My deepest condolences to Mimi, his family and close friends. I'm sure Pansy was there to guide him and now they will be riding together all the time watching over all.

Godspeed, Donald. You will long be remembered for your humor, long-winded posts, pie, donuts, love for biking, but most of all, the love you had for your lovely wife and family. We will miss you.

It is hard to explain the sorrow I feel after hearing this news, especially since I never met Don in person. However, over the last 5-6 years I have enjoyed reading about all of Don's biking adventures, his bantering with fellow cyclists here on Bike Journal & Facebook and his obvious love for his beloved wife Mimi and the rest of his extended family. You will be missed RaleighDon. RIP and forever tailwinds.
