I be retir'n from the Metric Club in 2011 so if the good ship Metrics be sail'n in 2011, she needs a new cap'n.
Email me at JKeenan0407 AT yahoo DOT com if ye be obliged.
The reasons be simple:
- In Johannesburg, ye can't just hop on your bike and ride long distances
- Ye doesn't ride alone here.
- Because of the road conditions and "other factors", my bike of choice for Johannesburg now and in 2011 be a mountain bike with rides of about 10 to 20 miles or so. Makes it difficult to get in metrics. Lemmee tells ya, a 15 mile ride on a mtb feels like a metric!!
- Time on the internet will be drastically reduced. It's VERY expensive here.
Those be my excuses and I'm stick'n to'em.

sorry to hear that, ye been a good skipper! Just so ya know i finally got the install of a new (to me) kidney! Was a good model with really low mileage (16 yo) almost perfect match, Dr. said it couldn't be better if it were from brother or sister. FEEL GREAT! Can't ride for about 5 more weeks but have walked about 25 miles so far, this is the 11 th day since the install. Be safe down there and get back when you can!

Yupper saw that in the metric thread. Thrilled for you. Somehow I know exactly how that feels. Just do everything they tell you to do and take it easy. You'll be back on the bike in no time.

Gonna be here for two years but the long distance road rides will be far and few between here, if any. On the good biking news side, I will get back to the states for 6 weeks during the summer with a few metrics for sure.
Thar be lots of singletrack to sail here, so at least the wheels will be spinn'n.

Avast ye barnacle infested son of of a seaslug! Yer excuses run with about as much convincin' clarity as a tankard fulla Pansy terbacky spitoon fillin's. Three or four short years at the helm of the good ship metric and ye be off ta bluer skies and smoother seas. Aye, the cook cain't says as he blames ye much, but be it known both on deck and below, yer rummagin' our pockets fer loose change as ye wandered the decks will be sorely missed. We'll be keepin' a plank and a slab of stale bread fer ye, fer them rare times when ye might want to come aboard.
