Overnighted in Columbia, SC so had to find a local course to ride in the morning. Found a route around a reservoir, but it started at a church so modified it so wouldn't be parking there as they held their Sunday morning service. Decided to start in a park in Winnsboro, SC but when I got there it looked kind of seedy and isolated so began at a grocery chain parking lot on the main drag. It had a thirteen mile out-and-back to get to and return from the reservoir loop. The route was again rolling on low traffic highways with no shoulders except for a few miles on the west side of the reservoir that was a secondary road. The route had eleven climbs between eighty and two-hundred and fifty feet but nothing over seven percent. It started descending into a pretty good headwind with the majority of the climbs on the out-and-back section. Ride was mostly in the pines as haven't gotten into palm tree country quite yet. Didn't see any other cyclists or any road markings indicating cycling activity. Did see a panhandler at an intersection out in the boonies but doubt he was doing much business on a slow Sunday morning. Legs were fine as thought they might be a little sore after yesterday's hard effort. Didn't have much energy though and had a fairly relaxed ride before continuing south to Florida.
