Legs not feeling great again but numbers have improved so at least my body battery isn't bottomed out. Headed out to Watkins to climb out on SR 14 once again to Reading Center then descend to Rock Stream and catch the north wind for a run back above the lake. Did fairly well on the first quarter of the climb but slowed down over the second quarter. Had good power on the false flat to Gabriel's Junction and really jumped up the average. Kept good power on the pedal's through the underpass up SR 14A and came out of the saddle for the steep section. Actually stayed out for the majority of that section before having to sit back down. Had a brief lull in speed as the body recovered then returned to pushing over the top. Ended up at twelve and a half for the climb that is short of the fourteen plus I used to be able to do but much better than recent attempts. Pedaled hard down to Rock Stream hoping to get enough speed to best my new adversary the seventeen average. Did fairly well but legs didn't hold up on the run back down the lake. Could blame it on the anticipated tailwind being a crosswind but more likely just old age and lack of fitness. Run through the lights in Watkins wasn't very productive either though I did do a short fast section drafting a truck. Got the average up to sixteen-eight rolling into town but lost some on the return home. Felt good to be climbing a little better though starting to notice a chill in the air of the accursed north wind.
