Southern expedition getting off to a poor start. Scheduled metric in NC was canceled due to heavy hurricane related rain. Guess that was beneficial to me as I wasn't able to ride because of an illness relapse. Spent Saturday bedridden in a motel riding the pain train. Relocated to South Carolina with record temperatures in the nineties. Wasn't able to ride though as body was severely stressed with body battery basically was flatlined at zero for several days. Stress levels were hovering at ninety-eight percent which just piled on the damage and really had no resting heart rate. Body battery started to finally rise last night and got up to twenty percent so decided since I was on the road to recovery I would get out on the road to bicycle. Since I had all day to waste, I picked a rolling course of forty-five miles. Temperature was in the low nineties with a light south wind. I headed north and quickly overheated and just tried to keep the pedals spinning. Had several small climbs but nothing over two hundred feet. Did most of the climbs out of the saddle that seemed fairly easy no doubt aided by my recent weight loss. Other than the climbs the body felt hollow. Miles passed fairly quickly but didn't have too many memorable moments. Just put effort in on the roads with traffic and relaxed on the mostly secondary roads. Got some miles in but again only got two rides in this week. Pretty pitiful since the only thing I have to do on the road is ride. Really like the hot weather.
