I got a new lens for my Pentax K100D digital SLR camera. It's a Pentax 50-200 zoom. It's very compact, light and from the few test photos I took in the back yard, seems fairly sharp.
It didn't focus as fast as I'd like it to in auto focus mode. It often took several attempts to focus on the Bumble-Bee and Dragonfly. But I'm an old timer, and I'm used to manual focusing, so it's not that big a deal if I have to.
Overall, it seems like a very nice lens, but I'd like to try some action photography with it to see how she handles.
P.S. Too bad you can't see these full size. They look spectacular when displayed full screen on my MacBook.

Great closeup stuff Craig. Wish I could get a digital slr. My Olympus OM 4 makes an excellent doorstop.

Thanks! I wasn't in the market for one, but my friend upgraded his Digital SLR and he gave me a great deal on the Pentax. It takes a while to get used to the digital SLR if you're used to 35mm SLR's because they can do so much more. (More complicated) And like most electronic devices, this one is... Well, not quite obsolete, but the newer digital SLR's are even better. But it is perfect for my needs. Look for a deal on an older camera. Usually when a new model replaces an old model, the price of the old one gets cut quite a bit, and it's still a good camera.
