Yesterday's rain has passed but it is still cool and damp. Took the new bike out for a spin up the valley to Eldridge Park in Elmira, NY. The roads were dry but the clouds were deep into the valley blocking views of the hill tops. There was only a slight north wind heading out that provided a boost up the valley. As I continued up the road the clouds were getting lower or was climbing up to them. By the time I got to the park I was riding in a misty rain so didn't bother stopping to watch the geese and turned north to head home. I had the average at seventeen at the turn around so was hoping for a nineteen overall as the last ten miles is downhill. Didn't happen though as actually lost speed getting back through Horseheads by hitting the lights bad. I did soon pass back out of the mist so return leg was dry. Thought I could mash the pedals after reaching the downgrade at Pine Valley but an increasing north wind and flagging legs dampened my effort. I was able to get up to eighteen and pretty much shut down and rode it out. Wasn't a very good day for riding but got some easy flat miles in and hopefully burned some calories.
