Weather looked good enough for another outside ride being in the fifties. This will probably be the last day of balmy weather until Marsh unless we have a exceptional January thaw. There were rain showers forecast throughout the day so opted for the mountain bike. Radar and forecast called for at least an hour of sunshine before the next shower came through the area. Headed out under a cloudy sky and it was misting rain on me a mile into the ride. It wasn't a soaking rain so really wasn't bad to ride in. Headed up the rail trail to Pine Valley after some single track along the river. Saw two fat bikes coming down the trail and suspected they were electric because I didn't see much pedaling going on. I suppose they could have been coasting though as it is a downgrade. Surface was only slightly damp with an occasional muddy area. Leaves are now all off the trees and rotting on the trail. Did see evidence of a cross or gravel bike doing an out and back from the south end of the trail. Computer nanny always gives me a low workout score when I ride the mountain bike, but the legs are usually getting a beatdown after a steady six mile upgrade on the soft surface. Caught the tailwind back along the highway. Wasn't a bad ride overall as finally saw the sun when coasting into my driveway. It will be snowing in a couple of days and temperatures will probably be hovering around freezing until the bitter weather gets here in January.
