I had a bad clicking noise in either my pedals or bottom bracket. I "flushed" the pedal springs with WD-40. There is no clicking now. Good stuff! Can't wait until they release WD-41.

The guy at the shop in the states where I bought my OCR 2 recommended WD-40. I didn't use it, but I may just give it a try here. Once I get reid of all the black gunk, that is. Snopes.com...one of the best sites on the web. You can't believe how many stories I've checked out. So, did you ever locate a source in Shanghai for the WD-40?)

Aye Russtaitai....edited the blog to put in that information. Sending you an email about WD40 and your chain: You need to TOTALLY REMOVE all lubricant and let chain dry.

WD-40 rocks. I used it all over my rusty old bike in Pittsburgh this past weekend just to get it rideable in a quick fashion. Didn't clean the chain because I plan to replace everything anyway (and had nowhere to clean it in 15 minutes), but WD-40 got the machine going!

Kathi has been on WD-40 for a year or so, and it seems to be working well. Hard to be precise, as she declines to track maintenance miles. I tried WD-40 briefly, but I got beat up so badly about it on BJ that I backed off.

I *have* greatly reduced my use of lube (ProLink), however. I clean the chain, lube it up, and ride it. Usually no more lube until the next cleaning. I used to add lube weekly or more often when on an extended ride. This year I did the 8-day Oregon Coast tour (570 miles) without relubing. The chain stays a lot cleaner these days.
