What it's like to ride with the gators. This is a 15 mile loop a bunch of us rides once a month during the winter months in Florida when the "mosquitoes" hibernate but the gators don't. Ride leaves to arrive at the outer point observation tower at sunset and watch the thousands of Ibis and other fowl roost for the evening. Then return in the dark by a full moon if we're lucky.
Someone asked: "Why is it called Shark Valley", so I of course did the "Google" thingie. I came across this blog page lazyiguana.org/shark_valley/shark_valley.html about a cyclist's bike ride and by scrolling down through his photos and commentary you'll find out why it is called "Shark Valley".
Wow, what a wonderful video - am amazed: The gators are just dozing on the side of the road you guys are riding? As fascinating as it must be scary ... Please, do post blogs and pics from the rides to come as well. And let us know why this isn't called "Gator Valley" or "Ibis Valley".
