I picked up the bike Saturdy afternoon and today is my first chance to ride it. The left/front brifter has been replaced with a bar-end shifter. It took about 10 miles of riding to get used to shifting and trimming with it. I have big hopes that it will bring an end to all of the front derailleur problems. I think the bike shop mechanic is really tired of battling it as well. I am still trying to get my riding lesback and I really need to drop some weight. The ride was a bit of a struggle, but I got through it.

 I was affraid of the Sram Apex. I was buying a new bike last summer and wanted the Jamis Xenith Endura Comp but it had Sram Apex.(well didn't like the blue) I went with a Cannondale with Shimano 105 stuff. I have never had problems out of 105's. I had read so many mixed reviews of the Apex stuff, glad I stayed away. Wish I had waited a few months, the newer Endura is Red, and has 105's on it. Oh well.
