The plan for the day was to do a long ride around Seneca Lake to burn some calories and hopefully start to bring my weight down to at least below my too fat to climb weight. Winds looked favorable for the route and it would be cool if I started early. Plan went away when I got a text asking me to dog sit for a few hours. That pretty much blew a how in my plan. Ended up taking a ride later in the day on the Burch Hill Route Started off spinning into a light headwind up the valley to Millport. Even though the wind was light wasn't able to go as fast up as some recent attempts. On the other hand my climb up Burch went much better then usual. Despite my hefty weight was able to get a nice flow up one of the easiest climbs in the area. It only has on very short section of eleven percent that on the last few rides had given me thoughts of a heart attack. Today though it wasn't easy but seemed shorter in duration and without much pain. Did okay on the rollers on Middle Road though didn't quite have the flow down. Return down the valley from Horseheads went quickly with the tailwind. Thought I might finally get a seventeen average but didn't quite have the legs. If I can get the weight and climbing under control I should be able to start flirting with seventeens. Weather looks okay for a long ride tomorrow.
