Weight is dropping slowly and am at least now below the too fat to climb limit. Need to lose another five to get into the mediocre climber range. With better climbing it might be possible to get out of the sixteens and start working on getting into the seventeens. Not sure it would happen today as the temperature was ninety degrees, and the wind was out of the south at seventeen. Attempted the Sullivanville course that has two climbs in the first eleven miles then twenty odd miles of downgrade. Problem to overcome today was first twenty miles was into the wind. Started off up Old Odessa and was able to top out at nine point six. Still not the necessary ten but at least an improvement. Once through Odessa had six miles of rolling terrain to the junction. Good portion of the wind was at least a crosswind and surprisingly made good time. Once at the junction though it was dead into the wind starting off with a two-mile highway climb. Hill itself provided some shelter and got to the top in good shape with the best time of the year. After that though couldn't keep the pace I needed into the wind. Thought I might be able to pick some time up with an epic tailwind down the valley from Horseheads, but it didn't happen. Used too much of my limited energy on the climbs, it seems and had to cruise the last few miles. Still had a strong ride despite the wind and the improved climbing while still lacking was greatly appreciated.
