Another warm day with a slight south wind and temperatures in the low nineties. Thought about doing some climbing today but couldn't convince myself to do it. Opted for another flat ride to Eldridge Park. Despite the south wind was able to make decent time up the valley and was surprised the legs felt good after a couple of miles. Once the up grades were out of the way made good time through Horseheads and the Heights. Finally getting some speed back as was able to hold eighteen on the flats fairly easily as opposed to my usual fifteen. Had to stop three times for road construction that cost me some time as really hurt my momentum. Got to the park with an average over sixteen so figured I would be able to finally top seventeen on the way back as it would be downhill with a tailwind once I got out of the city. Hung around the park for a bit but couldn't do much people watching as the park was mostly empty except for the geese. Didn't quite have as good speed on the return trip through the city despite the tailwind so still have some issues with endurance. Did luck out as the road construction crews were at lunch on my way back so was able to keep good speed going down the valley. Briefly had glimpses of an eighteen average but just don't have the legs yet but got the seventeen fairly easily. Now just have to start getting them on hill courses. Had a good day on the bike and feels good to be getting some strength back in the legs.
