Thanks! The west is mighty awesome, but the Penokee Range in northern Wisconsin used to be much like the Alps. However, it was ground down by 6 or 7 million years of Glaciers and erosion. I can only image how much cooler Wisconsin would be if it still had a mountain range like the Alps.
I've added a couple links to the geologic history of the area, and the North Country Trail.
