 Trail ride to Piedmont
Left Gadsden for my next ride in Tennessee tomorrow. Stopped in Anniston, AL at the start of the Chief Ladiga Trail. Planned on riding to Piedmont that was my starting point earlier in the week and returning. It would give me forty miles of easy terrain to tune my replacement rear wheel if necessary. This section of the trail was in great condition as opposed to the trail on the other side of Piedmont. There were several walkers, human and dog, and a few bicycles on this section. I had done this section several years ago when some of the bridges were out and had to detour through some rolling climbs in the hills around the trail. Found that I missed the climbs now that the bridges have been repaired. Riding the flat trail is mostly stress free as there isn't any motor vehicles but the scenery doesn't change much, and it reminds me of riding rollers. My knees though appreciated the now functioning freewheel and though still sore should be okay for the weekend. Got some stress-free miles in.
