Had another week of rain and temperatures in the fifties that had me back riding the trainer for a few days that appears to have had a positive effect on my condition. Today though was sunny with a temperature that briefly touched eighty and only a mild north wind. Decided to attempt some climbing and headed up Old Odessa and continue up Ridge Road. It is one of the mildest climbs in the area though the entire climb over six miles rises eight hundred feet. Hit the steep bottom part in a decent gear but soon ran out of leg and ended up dropping into the granny gear. As opposed to my poor climbing a week ago I was at least able to spin the granny. Tried to accelerate once over the steep section but didn't have much impact. Appears the climb got steeper than I remembered it at some point. I was able to accelerate once on the false flat in Odessa and was able to crest at eight point eight considerably better than my last attempt but still not very good. Was happy to have an improvement even if slight. It was back into the granny for the climb up Ridge Road to Seymoreville. Kept the ride short and descended down Middle Road and Millport Hill. Had pretty good legs on the rolling sections to the top Of Fitzpatrick and had a very fast descent. It was much more fun today than the descent last week with strong crosswinds. Ended up with a pretty poor average speed but still felt much stronger on the bike than my recent rides. According to the data spit out by computer nanny if it stays linear I'm still looking at two months to get back where I might attempt racing again.
