Today is the regular Sunday ride but now it's Cato's ride. Jim Cato has taken over as touring director for the Spinners relieving Ken and Steve.. They had been touring directors for a long time and were more than ready to pass it on to someone else. Steve messaged me yesterday about riding with him today. That way he can get in some miles with someone there in case he has problems. We met with the Sunday group and there were 12 that showed up to ride. Cato gave instructions and off we went. I rode up front until the first stop at Linky Stone Park. Steve was really falling back by then, so when we left Linky Stone I dropped to the rear. We rode to Bootlegger's Corner and Cato stopped there so that Ken could give his lecture about Fat Ma and Bootlegger's Corner. We let the group go at that point, but we rode a couple of miles north to the Swamp Rabbit Station. We turned back There and rode a couple of miles back to the Cafe. We went inside - by that point it was Steve, Tom, Don, EClair, and me. I bought an apple-walnut scone to eat there and one to take home for Cis. We stayed and talked for a good while. Officer Mike came in and added to the fracas in there. We finally left the cafe and rode back south to the zoo. Steve upped his mileage to 12 miles on this ride. From there I took my route home and it was over.
