Rain let up midday and the weather remains moderate so I headed out for a few laps around town. Light drizzle was falling and clouds looked to still have quite a bit of moisture left in them so laps gave me an option of never being too far from home. Chose a 7.5 mile route with a couple of good short climbs in it to break up the monotony. Worked pretty well as the ride got better the farther I rode. Route had one small climb and one steep one maxing out at thirteen percent. Had some trouble first lap, especially with the climbing but second and third laps were entertaining. Would have rode farther but ran out of daylight. Had a fun day despite the murk. Feel like I am in really poor shape, but I guess that is to be expected being January. Hopefully my strength will increase as the days get longer.
