Even though it was pretty chilly out I decided that it was time to get out and go. I took my normal route and passed a rider climbing the dog park hill. He chased me to Willard Street where I took a detour that put me right behind him. Then I chased him to Blue Ridge Drive where he crossed but there was a car that I waited on. Once it passed I made it to the center median but couldn't get across. By the time I crossed he was a half mile ahead of me. I continued to chase him but I slowed about 1/2 mile south of Furman where a lady was sitting by the trailside. She said that she had hurt her knee, but her family was coming to get her. I rode on north and was a couple of hundred feet behind my chasing buddy when he tured off the trail to ride around Bell Tower Lake on campus at Furman. I went on north to Travelers Rest and stopped for a drink at the gazebo before turning back south. Once I was going again I met my chasing buddy going north. I passed through campus and found the injured lady still sitting by the trail. She said that her family was riding back to Cleveland Park to get their vehicles and that they werre from Anderson and didn't know their way around town. I waited with her for close to half an hour until they arrived. Then her brother-in-law and I helped her down the trail and into the truck. By that time it was 5 o'clock and I was still 9 miles from home. I took off and really got after it the rest of the way home to get there as it was geting dark.
