Still focusing on weightlifting and bi-weekly race paced rides on the indoor trainer. My computer nanny keeps telling me this is unproductive as I lack sufficiently low aerobic milage. Since the temperature has gone above freezing today, I thought I would alleviate the lack with a short ride around town on the mountain bike. Only went a couple miles today on some of short sections of the local trails including the Bird Trail, and a short section of the rail to trial running through town. Weather was tolerable due to lack of winds which have been in the double digits for the last few weeks. Ground was still hard frozen and covered with a quarter inch of snow and thankfully avoided any hidden ice sheets. Took me almost as much time preparing for the ride as I spent outside. Really can't say it was enjoyable, but it was a ride. Might be able to get out tomorrow as it will be above freezing for a couple of hours although the winds are returning to the double digits. Next week has a few days of single digit highs and lows below zero so might be awhile before I ride outside again. Still have a low aerobic deficit after the ride so will need to ride further outside tomorrow. Next season looks to be a busy one as most of the rides are being announced and the schedule is filling in nicely. Have to get motivated but don't think that will happen until at least February.
