I rode from the house down to Cleveland Park, then rode south from th epark a couple of miles and back to the zoo. Today we had seven riders meet up to ride the trail - Ken, Steve, Don, Susan, Kimberly, Melanie, and me. We headed up the trail and found our pecking order as a group. I sit at the back to make sure there are no stragglers that get dropped. Melanie is a new rider so she and I brought up the rear together. After about 10 miles I could see that she was really tired and drifting badly on the trail. She works at night and hadn't had much sleep either. Once we were at TR we stopped at the Forest for snacks. I had a cup of coffee and a berry parfait with granola. While there a friend Ramona showed up, but she is recovering from an accident. She was unloading a table from a pickup and it flipped her out of truck onto a concrete stairway. She broke several ribs and punctured a lung. So Ramona is having a hard time of it, but she was there to add to the merriment! While there Melanie called her fiancee for a ride home. Finally six of us headed back down the rail. Part way back we ran into Elissa (Don's wife) headed north. Don stopped and went north with her, but then I noticed that we had picked up a rider that was chatting with Susan. He rode the rest of the way back with us. Then Susan introduced him as a friend of the family that had grown up with one of her daughters. I left the group at the park to ride the rest of the way home.
