Had a great day for a ride with occasional bright sunshine and a warm south wind. Strapped on the headphones and headed south on the trail to the tower lock. I was enjoying the scenery and the legs felt loose for a change when a bee flew into my helmet and ruined by buzz. I couldn't get my helmet off quick enough before it stung me on the top of my head. Not sure what kind of bee it was, but the sting was extremely painful to the point that my vision blurred and I felt a little woozy. Briefly considered that I have been stung so much that I am getting allergic to bee stings and that I would be in for a long day if the reaction got any worse. Pain and swelling leveled out eventually but the I was left with a nasty headache for the remainder of the ride as well as a queasy stomach. I am seriously considering giving up on the helmet as I appear to be stung at a greater frequency than I am falling off the bike. Not a bad ride other than the pain.
