Today's Sunday ride is Cato's first time as the Spinner's ride leader. Ken started this ride over three years ago and has been the leader since. Others of us fill in when he can't be there but it has always been his ride. Cato and 7 of us headed out. I told him that I normally do the ride, but today I was only going to ride to the cafe then turn back since I am still really down from being sick. We headed out and stayed together as a loose formation to Fat Ma's just short of the cafe. Fat Ma's is a historical marker where a woman known as Fat Ma sold moonshine made in North Greenville County from alongside the Reedy River. The moonshiners brought her the moonshine and she stored it in the river. The property has since been bought by Mt Calvary Baptist Church and they have a historical marker in the corner of the parking lot associated with that property. I stopped at the cafe as the group moved on and went in for a snack. I had a roasted pecan thumbprint cookie and a glass of sweet tea. I also bought a cookie to take home for Cis. From there I rode back down the trail.
