We had a good group to ride this crisp afternoon. We left with Ken, Steve, Don, Kimberly, Nick, Georgie, Barbara, David that started and ended in TR, Steve that had been riding and went a few miles before turning back, and me, then we picked up Bob along the way. The group splintered and spread out over the course of the ride. At one point I told Don that the lead group had left us in the dust, so he and I chased them down, but I burned out doing so. We stopped at the Forest and I had Strawberry green tea. After quite a while of socializing Ken had Nick toot his horn and we headed back for Greenville. I started off in the lead group with Ken, Georgie, and Kimberly. After we crossed Sulphur Springs Ken said to wait for the rest of the group. We pulled off n an industrial driveway and a deputy sheriff car pulled in behind us. It was Mike and he told us that a girl ran a stop sign the previous day and hot him on is BMW, so it is in the shop. After we had regrouped and had Mike regale us with several tales, we hewed out again. I was at the back of the pack and I slowed down for a couple struggling with a flat. After we crossed Nlue Ridge Barbara and I found that we had been dropped by the group, so we rode along and chatted the rest of the way. We both got off the trail at Hudson, but I turned right on Washington to go to Butler, while she went straight across to get to James. After crossing Bumcombe I always pick up a lot of speed going down the hill to West Park Avenue. Today I flew around the corner and came on a stopped truck, three police cruisers, and an ambulance. I had to brake in a hurry to get stopped. After that the ride was fairly uneventful.
