One day we'll look back at this and laugh.
During the deacon’s meeting this evening, it was shared that Jacque has resigned her position as financial secretary and the events that lead up to this happening. I received words of encouragement from many of the deacons, and had an in-depth conversation with Scott Knepper, and another with John Harris. I’m not exactly sure how the conversation lead to this, but John made the statement, "One day you’ll look back at this and laugh." Reading that statement here in the light of the context of the situation may sound rude or inappropriate, but I did not take it that way because of the course of the actual conversation.

I did expand and redirect the statement with John, though. I said, "I don’t know if Jacque will ever be able to laugh about this; I don’t know if I will. I do believe that there will be a day somewhere down the road where we will say, ‘because of what happened on 1/6/12, we are where we are today’ and we won’t necessarily be laughing, but we will be rejoicing in that moment!" Romans 8:28
