Still being nagged by a sore throat and fatigue but had another warm day and couldn't stay off the bike. Compromised by planning on a touring day with a couple of slow climbs. Stayed with the program up Old Odessa and Lower Foots Hill climbs and rode easy across the top on Lower Foots Rd. Weather was really odd as the clouds looked like, and it smelled like, it was going to snow despite the south wind and sixty degree temperature. Didn't enjoy the downhill from Burdett as the strong gusting wind was causing a good deal of instability at a high rate of descent. Coupled with some heavy high speed traffic made for a hairy descent. Had no problem with traffic, instability nor high speed on the ascent of Old Corning though it did start to rain as I neared the top. Decided to bail and take one of the side roads back to Montour but traffic on SR 414 was heavy and I kept going intending to hit the next one. Ended up descending through Johnson Hollow in a light rain which was the route I originally planned on doing. Fortunately it wasn't a soaking rain but the accompanying drop in temperature made the final few miles less than ideal. On the plus side was that the final few miles didn't take long with a downgrade and a fifteen plus gusting tailwind. Did get two soakers.
