The sudden weakness I experienced on last Friday’s ride to Penn Yan did not go away once I got off the bike. Felt weak the rest of the evening and woke up after a couple hours sleep with a very raw and extremely painful throat and a high fever. Spent a couple of days bedridden with very little sleep as well as being off my feed. Finally got out of bed yesterday and went on a high calorie low nutrition diet and moved from the bed to the couch. Decided today on giving it a go on the bike although it wasn’t that great of a day. It was warm enough being in the mid-seventies but it was cloudy windy and damp. Headed up the valley to Millport at an easy pace and made an effort up the short climb up Burch Hill to Middle Road. Felt good out of the saddle but didn’t want to get to aggressive on my first day back so just cruised to Horseheads on the back nine and finished a little over eighteen miles an hour for a short ride.
