Today's ice cream ride was a little too much. My thighs are really tired from yesterday's ride, but they calmed down after we left the zoo. Just south of Furman we came on a fairly bad wreck. A woman had run off the trail and down a 5 foot drop into a ditch. Her bike was beat up but she insisted that she was fine. She was with another older woman and her 20-some daughter. The daughter was standing in fire ants and had them all over her feet and ankles. I was brushing off of her and picking them out of her shoes. Then we discovered that her mother had injured her leg pretty badly. Something was sticking out of her leg just below her knee. A fellow that lives there took her and her bike to meet her husband who would tske her to exigent care while the girl and other woman rode the rental bikes back to the store and to their car. Then Ken came back and he and I rode on to the creamery. Jenn was closed except to us but we were spread out and were coming in for about 30 minutes. On the way back I stopped to help a couple. He was trying to diagnose a noise on her bike and I think it was the bottom bracket. So I took off and caught Matt and Bob and rode along with them. The Rythms of Life had their thing going again today.
