Actually Sandy is still listed as a tropical storm and is cruising up the east coast. Okeechobee is thirty miles or so inland so we are only picking up high winds and a few showers. Found a break in the rain and went out on the Lost Trail that loops around Lake Okeechobee. Felt good to be back in eighty degree weather despite the wind and rain. Coundn't get many miles in but the miles I got were quality as I was entertained by the various birds that were flying about on the edge of the storm. Buzzards here appear to have no fear of cyclists as they just sort of ambled out of the way when I passed them. Rain started up as I was getting back to the truck and just missed getting caught in a downpour.
