Turned out to be a really nice day for riding today with more seventy degree weather, sunshine and only a slight wind. Thought I might try the legs and see if I have recovered any speed and headed out to for two mild climbs and then try to push the final twenty miles of downgrade in the big gear. Felt kind of down on the first climb up New Odessa but tried to pick it up with a push to the junction to make up some time. Had a good section but it cost me too much as I was all tuckered out for the next climb up SR 13 out of Alpine. Abandoned plans of pushing the big gear as there was nothing left in the legs and just went to cruising speed and tried to enjoy the day and ignore tired legs. Seems my recent illness has stripped me of what little reserves I retained from a difficult racing season on the bike.
