I headed out East North to hit the Swamp Rabbit to Furman and back. After I turned around to headed for home I stopped at the railroad car that sits next to Sulphur Springs Road to drink from my bottle and an old fellow named Calvin stopped there to talk. We chatted about 15 or 20 minutes then he wanted to ride along with me back to Washington Street about 2 and 1/2 miles back. Calvin is only 61 but is struggling physically and he was on a coaster brake bike. We rode along at about 5 mph back to Washington where he went right and I went left. He told me all kinds of tales about his family and their adventures. I was just under 5 miles from the house but the sun had set, so I picked up the pace and headed on home. I had my rear light flashing but I don't have a front light. I guess that it's time that I got one!
