This morning I headed to Tigerville to participate in the Greenville Spinners' Leaf Tour. It was pretty chilly but a lot of cyclists showed up to get in this ride. We left Tigerville Elementary and headed to the back side of Table Rock. Toward the end of the ride to Aunt Sue's Restaurant were a few pretty good climbs. I didn't know if I would make the last one, but I did. At Aunt Sue's I bought a bottle of PowerAde and drank it plus some of my Gatorade. Then I took off for Slater to Slater Rx for a milkshake provided by the Spinners. I spent most of that part of the ride alone with nobody in sight ahead or behind. I finally saw a couple of riders behind me with a couple of miles left and came up on some riders as we came into Slater. I had a small orange cream shake and took off to finish the ride. I fell in with two guys and a gal and hoped to be able to stay with them the rest of the way back. Shortly after we left one of the guys' dropped his chain and they stopped to get it back on, but the gal and I pressed ahead. She set a good pace and we stayed together the rest of the way back. Her name is Audrey. I thanked her for setting the pace and bringing me safely back to Tigerville.
