Wind continues to blow steadily near thirty but gusts have died down. Headed out to the west today to the lost city of Honey Grove. Pretty much thirty miles straight into the wind on classic shake & bake road surface. Vibrations were very taxing and when combined with the wind provided some major league suffering. Average speed to the destination was around twelve miles an hour. Honey Grove appeared to be abandoned as I rode through turned around and only saw a couple of people at a convinence store off the main highway. Even the donut store was closed. Assumed it was suffering from vampire infestation or something. Did get passed by a patrol car twice. Seemed like the type of town where the police are there for revenue enhancement rather than to protect the missing citizenry. Actually perfered Honey Grove to Clarksville as at least I didn't feel threatened riding around town. Ride back was mostly coasting the big tailwind but there was no improvement of the road surface on the way back.
