This afternoon I drove to the Swamp Rabbit Cafe to get in a quick ride. I started put going south, wanting to go far enough that I wouldn't need to double up on trail sections to get at least 25 miles. I rode through Falls Park and had a time getting by a couple. I rode up behind them and called out "On your left" but she reacted by moving in all directions at once. That got her husband and me both laughing while I made my pass. I rode on into Cleveland Park until I was 4 miles from the cafe. Then I turned north to ride to the north end and back to the Cafe. The ride was fairly uneventful. There was no sun and only a light number of riders and walkers on the trail. About 2 miles from finishing my friend Ken was stopped at the Sulphur Springs Pocket Park. I stopped to pay him for my part of a memorial donation to one of iour riding friends and we talked about 45 minutes. After standing there talking for so long my knees were really locked up when I headed back down the trail. At the Cafe I had a cup of kale/potato soup, a glass of iced tea, and an oatberry shortbread. I also got a second oatberry shortbread to take home to Cis.
