Ride Description: W/Kim... HR Monitor is useless since they added "bikes". They are all so close, I'm always picking up someone else's reading. And I get these wacky high Max heart rates.
Wasn't a complete waste though, as I went running after spin class and was able to run 4 laps before the left leg pain got too bad. Two laps was my max on my first attempt at running, last week.
Only did one set of leg presses, as the machine was often occupied.
Left leg was hurting the rest of the day. |

After this mornings spin class and run, my left leg was hurting too much to ride today. (Pinched nerve?)
It also rained early and only got up around 40° with 20+ mph North Winds, so I thought it would be a nice day to work on singletrack.
Today I just lopped branches, raked, and pulled/cut the small twigs and plants to the spot where the rock garden will be.
Nothing glamorous or fun, but it has to be done.
Future Rock Garden, looking South. ------->
After working on the singletrack in the woods, I went to look at the Kool rock drop between the trees, south of the quarry. I lopped and cleared the drop zone after the rock drop, and looked for a way out to the main trail. It's gonna be tough, there are so many small trees in there, and most of them are bigger than lopping size. Looks like I might have to break out the saw.
Future Rock Garden, looking North. -------------------->
While looking for possible routes after the rock drop, I found some excellent terrain near the edge of the quarry. I also found an old bench overlooking the quarry. I've never seen that before! It looks like it has been there a long time. It would require a major amount of clearing, and bench cutting a trail along the quarry edge. I may also need a small bridge/rock fill to cross a small crevice. I think that would be way too much work, so if I decide to do it, it's on the bottom of my "To-Do" list.
Lots of "Baby Heads" in the Rock Garden zone. ------------------------>
There are a lot of Rocks, Bricks, Concrete blocks and and other "junk" in the future Rock Garden area. I have more than enough building material to make a sweet, armored rock garden. I think I can make it wide enough for multiple lines. I think I'll put in a couple technical features, with "ride arounds".
