A Good Day with Bus Drivers
I was hoping to catch this one bus at 520 this morning. I think the guy might not hassle me about going to Yarrow Pt. Technically, I'm only supposed to go to Evergreen Pt. but some drivers figure, they are headed that way anyway so what the hell.

I caught him. He shows up on time too, an added bonus. As I was getting off at Yarrow he said, "If I see you tomorrow I'm going to drop you back there (Evergreen) I don't want you to get spoiled. I laughed and thanked him graciously as I always do when drivers drop me at Yarrow for free. He honked his horn on the way off, so I think we are good.

He also made sure to point out the Bald Eagle that was sitting on a light pole just off the end of west end of the bridge, though you could hardly miss it. I had actually seen it fly over me at the Montlake Cut, I figured it might be there on the bridge.

As I arrived at Evergreen Pt. on the way home, a couple numbered buses came rolling through. I also saw a Terminal bus headed West and was able to flag one down. He wanted to know if the bus ahead of him had a full bike rack, which it did. I explained that I often get hassled about fare from drivers of "routed" buses, even though they are supposed to give bikes a free ride across the bridge. He was surprised to hear that, but it's true. I've had terminal bus drivers ask me to pay fare on the way west across the bridge, I feel stupid having to explain to them that I don't have to, and I send a suggestion to Metro to maybe remind the drivers about the new policy, due to the fact that they may have not driven bridge routes before and so are not familiar with the issue.

The rest of the ride is just an uphill grind. Hip a little sore after riding.
