I am struggling with the weather turning cooler but decided to give it a shot after work tonight. My fingers were very cold when I started but they warmed up after a bit. I headed out East North to Washington to the Swamp Rabbit. There weren't many bikes or joggers on the trail in this weather. Even so I was blue lighted by a deputy sheriff. I was waiting to cross a side street and he pulled up to the crossing and waved me across. I hate crossing in front of traffic so I shook my head no and he flipped on his lights. So I crossed and went on my way. But I hate crossing in front of cars when they have the right of way. I don't care to give up my right of way but will do that rather than get hit by a car, but I hate taking their right of way. Then if something happens I'm at fault.
I rode out to Furman then returned home by way of Cleveland Park. I planned to check out the progress on the bridges under construction or under repair, but passed right by them without noticing! But it was good to get in a ride and encouraged me to get out when I think that it's cold. I was fine after the first mile.
