Legs were still a little tender after yesterday's ride so kept the milage down too a short fifty today. Since it was an early Sunday ride I stayed on the larger highways today for the ride down anticipating light traffic. Caught the Metro Express Extension and had the road pretty much to myself. Looked to be rather new satin smooth pavement and it was a joy to ride on. There is a bike trail along the expressway, but it was closed for some non-obvious reason. The expressway had a bike lane and would have probably had no issues even if there was traffic. The road dumped me on Cleveland Ave (SR 41)and there were a very few cars to contend with on it. There was a short section under constuction that was a little hairy and I bailed and went on up on the sidewalk\bike trail. Trail was also either under construction or in ill repair and had to bunny hop some bad sections. Got to Bonita Springs and headed west back to the beach roads for the return trip. Road seemed much shorter coming this route as opposed to the out and back I usually ride on this section and the climbs came fast and were over quickly. Legs still were a little sore after the ride. The fifty miles went by fast though my average speed was fairly low.
