Ride Description: After XC skiing in the backyard for an hour, I got out the Ice Bike for a ride around the 'hood.
Not much ice on the roads today. There was some snow that was a little like sand riding here and there.
Started snowing at the end of the ride. |

We just got 7 inches of new snow yesterday, and our XC ski trails in the back yard were ready to go!
No house work today. It's time to play!
After an hour of skiing, we were a little tired. Sue is a pretty good skier, and I am the worst skier on the planet. I'm OK on the flat snow and slight uphills, but even going down small hills scares the poo out of me.
After an hour of having long slippery boards strapped to my feet, I was starting to feel a little better about the gentle downhill slopes.
We found out how our neighbor grooms the trails. He uses a big 20 pound ice fishing hut sled, and puts 40 pounds of weight on it and pulls it with a rope in his snowshoes. Sue helped him out and pulled the sled around for a while.
I gave her a well deserved massage that night.
Sue looks good and natural on skis, I look like a dork.
After skiing, I changed my shoes and traded my touque for a helmet and went for a ride around the 'hood. I feel much more comfortable on the Ice Bike than I do on skis.
