Overcast skies, temp in the 30's, a calm wind and very light traffic make for a quiet 7.62 mile ride to work on my last working day in 2011.
It was a chilly ride home - temp in the upper 30's w/wind chill of 29 - and some small light precip blowing around when I left work. Today is my last day of work for the year and I have accumulated 148 days of commuting to/from work via bicycle - this is a personal best, exceeding last year's record of 118.
Despite this evening's weather conditions and being minimally dressed for them, I extended the trip home an extra 3.5 miles in order to roll my YTD odometer above the 5,000 mile mark (2344 of those miles were from commutes to/from work). This year's miles rank as the 2nd to the 7,000 I did in 2005.
